Social Media Marketing Expert

EmpowerGen is a startup non-profit, looking for a creative, driven Social Media Marketing resource to spearhead our online presence and foster meaningful connections with our audience. The ideal candidate will manage and grow our social media platforms, create compelling content, and drive engagement while championing our mission.

This is an internship, and a great way to build out your resume as you demonstrate your ability to work independently, show real results in short order, get references from senior professionals on the EmpowerGen team, and build your network.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a strategic social media plan aligned with our organization’s goals and values.

Create, curate, and publish engaging content (e.g., posts, stories, videos) across all social media platforms.

Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to build and maintain strong relationships with our community.

Use analytics tools to measure and report on the performance of social media campaigns, offering insights for improvement.

Collaborate with us to align social media efforts with fundraising, events, and program initiatives.

Stay informed about trends and best practices in social media and apply them to enhance the organization’s online presence.

Build partnerships with influencers, donors, and like-minded organizations to further our reach.

Qualifications:

Proven expertise and conversant in all things social media

Strong knowledge of major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok).

Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.

Familiarity with social media analytics tools 

Graphic design and video editing skills are a plus (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

Passion for social impact, especially as it relates to youth services.
