Tax Intern- June 2024

Summary of Job Function

Team members in LGA's Tax department work extensively on not only the preparation and compliance of corporate, partnership, individual, estate and trust tax filing, but also gain exposure to a broad range of other business and tax related matters.


 

Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Have a strong interest in and work towards developing an awareness in the tax arena for business and personal tax engagements.
  • Exude intellectual curiosity, have strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Practice excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate confidently and concisely with various levels of firm management in both written and verbal form.
  • Be self-motivated and energic with the ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment.
  • Produce high quality work which adheres to the relevant professional standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.
  • Be adept at utilizing various tax software as well as Adobe and Excel.
  • Ability to work on-site for 32 hours per week (Monday-Thursday).


 

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled BS/BA in Tax, Accountancy, or related concentrations.

Work Environment and Special Physical Demands

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • This job is performed in an office setting, indoors, and at times travel to one of the other firm offices may be required.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other machines.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Talk or hear.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and support the team during traditional peak seasons.
