Field Engineer & Technician Fall/Winter Intern (part-time) - Private Equity/Renewable Energy (Rhode Island, Massachusetts)
The Captona team is recruiting to expand its fast-growing business. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join our platform in an entrepreneurial setting focused on renewable energy and impact investing focused firm that actively acquires and operates Solar, Wind and other generation assets.
Captona is currently looking for Fall/Winter Interns!
Please note, this role would be:
- Based in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. This is NOT a remote position.
- A hands-on, field work position--not a typical office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Visit operating and development project sites and support & shadow thorough physical inspections to ensure deployed solar assets are of the highest quality, create punch lists for NCIs
- Coordination and management of subcontractors, electricians and technicians
- Site inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance for operational sites
Support & Shadow:
- Installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of solar power plant components, including the solar PV panels, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers and switchgears
- Site inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance for operational sites
- Monitoring of asset status and troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise
- O&M activities and plant operations and verify the maintenance activities
- Development of methods to troubleshoot equipment and performance, reviewing construction documents, ensuring compliance with codes/standards
Qualifications:
- Interest in the renewable energy sector
- We welcome applicants from all educational backgrounds, so long as they have a keen interest in finance
- Accounting course (preferred but not required)
- Superior mathematical / problem solving abilities
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a challenging environment and meeting demanding deadlines
