Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator

POSITION: Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator:
Summary:
We are looking to add a creative student to our team. The position will focus on communication and content development for the newly created SOAR (Seize Opportunities, Aspire to Rise) student success program. We need you to help us develop our digital, print and social media presence to increase student participation and engagement. You would also be our resident Zoom workshop host that would later create an edited highlights reel video of the workshop. Put your social media influencer skills to work and get paid for your creative talents.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•            Assist with creating and managing social media content across multiple accounts promoting SOAR activities and events increasing engagement
•            Create digital and print advertising                                                
•            Host fast paced Zoom workshops (training provided)
•            Edit Zoom workshops video to create a highlights reel
·                    Help develop and execute a communications plan
•            Help developing an introductory video of staff
•            Using a chat, email, phone, text, and/or Zoom to respond to student questions.
•            Passing off advanced issues to appropriate areas of the college (IT, Library Support, Academic Coaching)
•            Reporting timesheets electronically and activities to the Director of SOAR
·                    This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.
 
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
·        Ability to use computer software to create promotional media and edit video content
·        Experience with Social Media accounts 
·        Ability to facilitate Zoom events
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and Willingness to ask questions when stuck
  • Comfort with all modes of communication (email, texting, phone, Zoom, chat, Navigate)
  • Eagerness to help other NECC students succeed
  • Available to work some nights and weekends when needed
  • Available to assist with events when needed
  • Applicants will be asked to submit an example social media post and piece of digital content as part of their interview process. 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be a student in good standing
  • Must have completed 12 credits at NECC
  • Must have and maintain a 2.70 GPA
  • Bilingual and Spanish speakers encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse, urban population in a Hispanic-Serving Institution
Additional Information:
SOAR office team member; SOAR Student Life Non-Unit Professional Position; 15 hours per week; Temporary Grant Funded Position through May 31; Haverhill campus. 
SALARY: 
  • $15.00 Hourly
  • Non-Benefited position
ANTICIPATED START DATE: March 2023
