Mapping & Localization Intern

What You'll Do

As a Mapping & Localization Intern, you will work on exciting and impactful projects to advance navigation technology. Your work may involve:

• Developing and testing algorithms for mapping and localization in GPS-restricted environments.
• Collaborating with the team to process, analyze, and transform sensor data into actionable insights.
• Contributing to software tools and pipelines for data simulation, storage, and querying.
• Experimenting with machine learning and computer vision techniques to improve data interpretation and feature detection.
• Supporting the design and development of systems to ensure scalability, efficiency, and accuracy.

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in PythonC++, or related languages.
• Experience or coursework in algorithms, data structures, or software development.
• Familiarity with sensor data processing (e.g., IMU, Camera, Lidar, GPR, GPS).
• Experience with pose estimation, probabilistic filtering, SLAM, nonlinear optimization, or similar robotics fields.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Knowledge of signal processingcomputer vision, or geospatial data
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate technical ideas effectively.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Familiarity with geospatial data formats and tools (e.g., LAZ, GIS tools).
• Experience with filtering and processing IMU data for localization.
• Knowledge of GPR technology or radar principles.
• Background in ETL pipelines or data engineering.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing and querying systems.
• Prior exposure to vehicle dynamics or robotics-related projects.
