Science and Engineering Intern
Regardless of the career path you choose or your preferred occupation, as an Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) intern, there's one thing you'll make from day one: an impact. You'll work side by side with our men and women in uniform and Civilians just like you, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the field of your choosing. Your experience here will equip you with the insight, know-how, and ability you'll need to succeed and excel in the future.
The Premier College Intern Program (PCIP) is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while participating in a paid 10–12-week summer internship. The goal of this program is for both the intern and gaining organization to see if the Air Force Civilian Service (AFSC) is a good fit for the intern's future. You will be assigned a mentor and have the opportunity to network, work on challenging projects, and enhance your engineering skills. Engineers within the Air Force play a vital role in ensuring the Air Force's ability to fly, fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace. They work in a wide range of disciplines and applications, designing, developing, maintaining, and improving the systems and technologies that the Air Force relies on to complete missions. Upon successful program completion, you may be pipelined into the PALACE Acquire (PAQ) and COPPER Cap (COP) programs. These programs offer a recent graduate the opportunity to enter 2- to 3-year rotational development and training program with one year consisting of full-time graduate studies. Successful completion can result in being offered a full-time permanent position with the Air Force Civil Service.
